    Our menu highlights tropical produce and freshly caught fish and seafood. If you wish to include meat or poultry in your Driftwood experience, please pre-order with our booking team, along with any dietary requirements.

  • Guests can enjoy fresh tropical fruits throughout the day, with special treats like banana bread, cake, popcorn (a favourite among kids!), and local cassava chips available upon request. As there are no shops or stores near Driftwood, guests are welcome to bring any extra snacks (such as chocolate, sweets, chips) you might want during your stay.

Kitchen/Dining

  • Our newly-built kitchen has been purposely designed to accommodate guests who love cooking and eating. Featuring a large functional bench top and modern four-burner cooker, this space is the ideal setting for socialising with friends over our local fresh food. 

    The kitchen is home to a large dining table that can accommodate 8 seated guests at a time. Meal times can be as formal/informal as you like, with the option to take meals back to your private accommodation. Typically, this communal space becomes a beloved hangout to share delicious cuisine, freshly caught fish, and stories from the day's adventures.

    Guests are welcome to take charge of the kitchen and show off their master culinary skills! Just speak to our team about the fresh ingredients you require, and they will do their best to have stock of just what you need.

  • Whether you have specific allergies, intolerances, or dietary preferences such as vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free, our team is dedicated to crafting delicious and nutritious meals tailored to meet your needs.

    Please inform us of any dietary requirements when booking your stay so that we can make appropriate arrangements to cater to your preferences. 

  • You may pre-order a selection of alcoholic beverages before your stay. Driftwood offers tea, coffee, clean drinking water, and fresh juices throughout your stay.

    Please note that there are no shops on Gatokae Island, so any special requests must be arranged in advance with our booking team. Orders arrive from Honiara once a week so pre-planning special request is required. Pre-orders may include beer, and wine, soft drinks. Guests are welcome to bring their own spirits purchased at Duty Free.

  • Guests are welcome to bring some food and beverage items.

    A few favourites include; chocolate, chips, lollies, spirits as travellers often purchase these Duty Free on the way. These items can be much more expensive, and difficult to purchase once you have arrived and are en route to Driftwood.

  • Our incredible team of local cooks have been trained by award-winning Yacht Chef, Kdn Lyne.

    Together they have developed a mouth-watering weekly menu that plates up the best of Solomon Islander dishes, combined with a contemporary twist.

  • At Driftwood, we serve fish and seafood based on the catch of the day, ensuring each meal features the freshest, seasonal offerings available. From Spanish Mackerel to fresh Lobster, we are truly spoiled by the exceptional seafood right at our doorstep.

  • Guests enjoy an array of seasonal tropical fruits, including Pineapple, Papaya, Pawpaw, Bananas, Watermelon, and Mango, allowing us to serve the freshest and most vibrant selections available. In addition, our meals are served with fresh herbs and vegetables from our local gardens, optimising what is in season including Thai Basil, Bok Choy, Carrots, Green Papaya, Long Beans, Sweet Potatoes, Peppers, Eggplant, Cassava, Avocado, Onions, Garlic, Pumpkin, Tomatoes, and Cucumber, all enhancing the flavour and freshness of our menu.

With a combination of comfortable accommodation, delicious home-cooked food using local ingredients such as coconuts, limes, locally grown vegetables and freshly caught fish—I’ll be going back for more asap
